Bugsplat when clicking and dragging to make a selection box only on Macbook Pro

Hello all,

I am having an issue with Sketchup Pro 2020.2 on my Macbook Pro. Every time I click and drag to make a selection box it crashes and I get a Bugsplat. It happens every time I try across various different models but doesn’t happen when I try the same thing with the same models on a Surface Book 2.

I have uninstalled and re-installed Sketchup. I have uninstalled all extensions. I have clicked ‘fix problems’ in Model Info… still happens. I have been a Sketchup user for 18 years and haven’t come across this before. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix it? Many thanks in advance.

Any extensions installed?

Hi Mike, I have uninstalled all extensions

also when you open an empty file?

Hi Mike,

It doesn’t seem to do it with an empty file, and I have found some models that it doesn’t have a problem with…so maybe it’s something within the models that’s causing a crash. (A lot of my models have copy and pasted components in them)

Could something like a corrupted component affect a Macbook Pro but not a Surface Book 2? (Sorry I’m not that technical)

Try to select all (Cmd A) and then paste it in a new file.
Work from that file further and get rid of the corrupted one.
