Since a few days I’ve been getting an error message with the Sketchup Make 2016 launching! I never had any trouble with sketchup before and 2016 make worked fine until now but at the moment I can’t even launch it.
I already checked the graphic drivers and they’re all up to date and I tried re-installing sketchup but the message stays the same.
I uploaded the message I get with this post.
Can anyone please help me in getting this back to work?
I thank everyone in advance for any help given.
Have you installed any new extensions or plugins recently?
Trimble takes bugsplats seriously and will get back to you if you provide good identifying info in the report. It helps to link to this forum topic so that they can reply to you here.
Your profile indicates you have two graphic adapters installed. Have you verified that SketchUp is set to use the AMD one, not the Intel HD 4000 (the HD 4000 are known to cause problems due to poor OpenGL support).
Thanks! I submitted it to trimble already, then I waited for days but no one got back to me, so that’s why I post it here. I can’t even pick a model, the program won’t even start because that’s when the bugsplat happens =(. I’ll try holding shift, not sure what it would do though.
I installed artlantis (the program, no extentions) and updated my graphic drivers, it is set to AMD but it doesn’t seem to work. I used to have it on the Intel one and that worked until I updated both my drivers. After that it won’t even launch anymore.
I’ll report it again to Trimble and link this topic, thanks :)!
@kavinash22 Startup crash is typically seen when there is an issue with the graphics card. Please try disabiling the hardware acceleration as suggested in Can't run SU in Windows 10 - #14 by yogesh and let us how it goes.
i sent the blug splat and just tried the hardware acceleration, now it does not come up with a bug splat instead from my taskbar it just fades of when i click the icon.
Thanks for responding.
I tried the same one with the hardware acceleration as well, for me this didn’t solve the problem. I still get the bugsplat.
Is there something else I can try to do?
@Missa, one it’s not clear what you tried with hardware acceleration. Second, are you on a laptop? If so, check the graphic drive control panel that for 3D modeling with SU, you have set the computer to use the graphic card, instead of the integrated graphics chip. Lastly, you have an AMD graphic card. That manufacturer has an iffy record on supporting all the OpenGL function calls required by SU. You can rollback that driver to the last version installed on your computer - which you indicated worked.
