Bug: move/stamp not respecting axis choice for "glue to" component

I want to place multiple instances of a rivet-head component on a box. I have a glue-to component created, so I insert a new instance of the component and place it on one side of a simple box (grouped or ungrouped). With the rivet-head selected, I activate the move tool and hit control twice to switch to stamp mode. I bring a new copy of the rivet-head around to the opposite face of the box and place it there. That copy orients correctly. All good so far.

However, at this point, the stamp tool stops respecting the axes of my glue-to component. In fact, when I attempt to place a third instance of the rivet-head component on the same face (still in stamp mode), it is now flipped 180 degrees along the axis that is normal to the gluing face and is thus buried inside the box.

Please upload that specific file.

Here it is…

I see what you mean. We have a meeting today about tools issues, I will show the problem to the developers.

I logged a bug report about this. SKOR-19369 in our system. Looks like the problem would have happened since stamp mode was added in SketchUp 2021.
