Axis Snaping Problem

While working normally, it suddenly stops snapping to one of the 3 axes. Sometimes it’s blue, sometimes it’s red, sometimes it’s green. The only way to fix it is to close the app and reopen it. But I think something is triggering it. I might be doing something without realizing it. I can use snap with the arrow keys. But passive snapping works very well for me.

There is no free plan of SketchUp 2023. Are you used a cracked version? If not, have you tried newer versions like 2024? It might also be caused by an extension - you seem to have quite a lot of them.

I am not using Free, I am using Pro. I have been using the same extensions for a long time. I have not had any problems. I am not switching to the 2024 version because it causes problems when using multiple screens. (The Problem I mentioned) But I have recently started to encounter this problem. I especially encounter it when working in a group and generally when doing copying-like operations with the Move tool.

Fix your forum profile, then.

What is the camera’s angle of view set to?

Share the .skp file so we can see if it’s something in the model or perhaps something hardware related.

I fixed it. Sorry about that.
I always use perspective. I only switch to parallel when taking images or sections.
Of course I can share it, but this happened to me not only with this file but with many others.

Thank you.That information makes it easier and faster to get help but only if you put the right information in the fields in the first place.

I didn’t ask that. I can see that you are using Perspective in the video. I want to know what the angle of view is set to. I will be able to find that out when you share the model, I guess.

I uploaded it here because it is over the maximum size.

I am not having any problem snapping the Line tool to the blue axis in your model.

I wonder if it’s a graphics drivers thing. Try updating the graphics drivers and do a cold reboot of your computer.

It wouldn’t hirt to purge unused stuff from your model from time to time. You should also keep the model closer to the model origin.
Parsel 112-113-114 Tip C Uygulama 3D purged.skp (3.4 MB)

I try everything. My all drivers are good. And also you know Its not a graphical issue. Its not snaping.
Thanks for your suggestions.
In addition when I open my file and work everything Is good. As I mentioned while working on it, it mostly breaks down while copying lines or objects (mostly with the Move Tool). For example, enter the group of the thin plaster layer outside the walls and do some processing and copy with Move. Maybe it will break down on you too. I don’t know.

Edit;
Also Try other axis not just a blue one. Its randomly get break.

Did you actually go to the Nvidia site, get their latest drivers, and install them? Or did you let Windows tell you they are good?

That IS a graphics issue.

The fact that it “breaks” after you’ve been working in the file for a while points more to graphics issues. I’ve been expoerimenting in your file since my last reply and still haven’t had any issues with axis snapping in any direction. So far I haven’t been able to duplicate what you are seeing.

No for GPU Drivers Im always checking them with Geforce Experience. I also Using Studio Driver.

Okay.

Now I will open the project and show them working first and then repeat the steps I did, when it breaks I will finish the video and send it to you. Maybe there will be something that catches your attention.

Take a look. Maybe you can catch something.

I also try to not using any extension.

A bit hard to follow that video but I think I saw a moment with the line tool out at the end of the balcony. Next time it occurs, what happens if you press the arrow keys to force a constraint?

EDIT: I read in your first post that arrow keys still work. Hmmmmm.

If I use the arrow keys there is no problem. I can lock it in the direction I want and do my work, but passive locking definitely does not work. I have to close the project and reopen it.

If it is important you could also try disabling all extensions, and if the problem disappears, enabling them one by one or group by group to find the culprit.

What happens around 48 seconds?
It might be a soundcard issue taking over the IRQ of the graphics card.

Nothing. I just accidently hover my cursor on spotify. But It doesnt matter about my Issue.

I will try one by one.

Update;
I disable and delete all my extensions. Its still happen. Also try same file with my other PC. Both on RTX 4060, i7 12th Gen Windows 11 and RTX 4080 S, i9 14KF Windows 11.

Now Im going to reinstall Sketchup and try it.

Update2;
I reinstall sketchup without any extension. Still this happen. I copied all of things to new project .skp Its happen again. Then I just open Empty project and start doing things. Its looking like Its not happen now. Maybe Its a bug happen about some lines or groups or components. I dont know. Something in the project may be triggering this issue.

This is an issue I have dealt with in the past, and still deal with. I had a previous post about it here:

I have experienced it in several versions, and still get it in 2024 Pro. Just wanted to add my experience to the thread.
