Is there some explanation for the array copy in 2024 to be working different? In 2023 I could do a move/copy, then enter ‘x’ and a number of copies. In 2024, the input box will not take the x, until I enter a number. If I hit enter, that changes the move length, If I backspace out the number, then enter the x and the number it works to give me the number of copies I want. same computer for both.
It works the way it always has on my end. Move the first copy the required distance, press Enter, type x and the number of additional copies, press Enter again.
BTW, please update your forum profile. It’s showing you’re still using SU 2021.
It does not work that way for me. Something about accepting the ‘x’. It accepts the ‘/’ for an internal copy. If I want to adjust my number of copies with the x, I have to enter a number first, then backspace, then enter x and the number. It does not do this on 2023. I have rebooted computer. I have 3dconnexion drivers, MX mouse logictec mouse and keyboard, and maybe drivers. The computer is a dell laptop, and using its keyboard produces same result. I may try to look into the logitec drivers update. I had a problem with 2024 and the 3dconnexion drivers. very weird and annoying.
I’m not sure what correctly would mean. I downloaded, installed under my user, the only one I use that I’m pretty sure has admin rights. and i started using it. I checked preferences/shortcuts and none are assigned. I’ll look around at updating mx keys drivers. will get back on this thread, when i get around to that as I want to get moved completely over to 2024. In the meantime, thanks for confirming that it should be working as before.
That’s not the same as using Run as administrator to install the application. At this point, quit SketchUp and LayOut. find the installer in your Downloads folder, right click on it, choose Run as administrator, and when prompted, choose Repair. At least make sure SketchUp is installed correctly on your machine.
Ran Installer to repair, also downloaded and installed latest version of 2024. * works, x does not. also updated mx keys software. I can use the * for now. Hopefully there are not any other strange things that drive me crazy.
At least you have SketchUp installed correctly now. The fact that x doesn’t work on your machine points to something else hijacking the key stroke. Maybe an extension. It’s not SketchUp directly.
Did you look to see if x is assigned as a keyboard shortcut for anything?
There is something messed up with 2024. At least on my machine. Now the views tool bar does not work. Comes up with empty little windows. I’m going back to 2023 for my work until the bugs in this get worked out. I seem to battle with little stuff like this with every new version of sketchup.
There’s definitely an issue on your machine with it. I haven’t seen any other reports of the Views toolbar showing incorrectly. What extensions do you have installed?
