Solid Inspector says everything is shiny but I wonder if the interior is solid. I think there are hollows inside, especially in the area of the block where the metal retaining clip goes.
I do remember when I pushed the tubes along the length of the block there seemed to be a barrier at the point of the clip recess. I selected the barrier and deleted it. It seemed work but I wonder if I caused hollows in the interior.
The area between the two holes is a problem which is why SketchUp doesn’t show the object as a solid. Solid Inspector 2 doesn’t identify it as a problem. This is know as a “bow tie”. There’s zero thickness where your two holes meet.
My slicer program will split it horizontally along its length into a top and bottom section. It can also print alignment pins and holes for realignment after I lay the wires in the tubes and then glue the two halves together. That’s the theory any way.
Good deal. If it’s typical 2-wire lamp cord you would need the gap as I show anyway. You don’t want to split the wire where it passes through to strain relief.
