AR viewer android not working

Hi everyone,

I’m encountering an issue with the AR viewer in the SketchUp Android app. Every time I try to launch it, the screen turns black and the app becomes unresponsive. Has anyone else experienced this problem?I’ve already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, as well as testing it on both my phone and tablet, but the issue persists.Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Same here,
I can use the app and view my models, but when I hit the “AR” button it goes black.
The only to get it to react on android is to swipe left on the screen and close the app thru the active programs menu (i.e. the three lines on the bottom left).
Now I did find a really really bad workaround, but your not going to like it;
Open the program and leave it running in the background for 2-3 days and then try the “AR”.
I was able to get it to work then, however if you close the app or restart your phone, it locks up again.
I really wish they would fix this.

I got the same problem and im paying for the AR.

i got a xiaomi note 12 pro and when i started to pay for the AR i got the xiaomi note 10 pro and then it worked fine.

It’s disappointing that this issue is taking so long to be resolved, and based on the response from ProSupport, it seems it might not be fixed at all. It’s hard to believe that such a valuable paid feature isn’t considered an essential part of SketchUp, leaving all of us without a valid solution.

I appreciate you getting back to me.

I am sorry, but we do not have a solution for this SketchUp viewer for android 12+ is not supported and we cannot speak to any future developments with products.

However, I have seen this potential workaround posted by Colin in the forums:

“One other thing, if your Android phone has AR capabilities you could upload your model to 3D Warehouse, and view it in AR using Chrome”

You can also share the model with the customer using Trimble Connect link sharing and they can view the model without ever needing to download it:
