Applying landscaping materials to a Sandbox Draped area

Hello,

I watched a YouTube video on using Drape. The narrator selected the draped circle and, using Paint Bucket, planted some green grass into it.

That does not work for me.

How do I add a material to a selected draped shape?

Note the scale figure in the background, no colour, could that possibly mean you have the style set to monochrome.

Yes, it had been set to Monochrome. I set the Face style to Shaded with Textures and it works now.

Thank you very much. Makes me wonder if you’re some sort of genius.

Three other things of note now that I have looked at your model.
The tilde in the file name means you are working on the backup file not the original, this leads to all sorts of problem the least of which is you will end up with multiple backup files with multiple tildes.

Your ‘terrain’ is upsidedown, meaning the back faces are up, so technically you are modeling it the wrong way around. Again this can cause issues, render engines often ignore anything on the back face, and 3d printers use the back face to know what is air and what is material.

You have Length Snapping enabled in Model info/Units, this can lead to inaccuracies when modelling and should be turned off by default. Experienced users make their own templates or modify the basic ones and turn that setting off and resave the template.

Thank you very much. I added your info to my SketchUp notes files & have already disabled Length Snapping.

One other thing. I stamped another road after I got your note.

I drew the sandbox field on the red-green axis & never turned it up side down. Do you still think it is upside-down? If so, please explain.

Remember your earlier post when you had Monochrome on, it can tell you a lot.
