Another Sketchup not responding post

I recently purchased a new laptop.
ASUS TUF 15.6
CPU Ryzen 9 4900
GPU NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Radeon
16 GB RAM
500 GB storage SSD

I’m running Sketchup Pro 2017.
I have “Automatically check for problems” turned off
I’m running as Administrator

Are there known outstanding problems with Sketchup?

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

fix what?

The problem I have is sketchup hangs during use showing the message"Sketchup not responding"

I’m not doing anything complex. I’m not working with a large file.

I’m using Windows 10, and Macafee antivirus.

apologies, I understand the post title now

Did you install SU by right click on the install file and choose Run as Administrator?
Try turning off MacAfee av.
Do you have SU set to use the RTX in Nvidia properties?

If taken at face value, such a graphics card doesn’t exist (mixing Nvidia and AMD product names). However, the models I found had all Nvidia graphics.
Have you upgraded your Nvidia driver?
Are you using plugins?

I did not run install as Administrator. I have now uninstalled and reinstalled as Administrator. Also running as Administrator. I have since confirmed that Sketchup is using the GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card. I have now exempted Sketchup from McAfee Firewall. Also turned off McAfee temporarily.

Will see what happens. Thank you

You are correct. I took that description from my Asus Dashboard. I’m in the process of doing some updates now, and will check in later on that.

Thanks

Yes I am using plugins, and I also wondered if they may be contributing to the problem.

You shouldn’t really be running as admin, it can mess with things like drag and drop files. Installing as admin is important, then run as normal user. Being an admin is fine but don’t specifically choose to run sketchup as admin.

Good to know
Thanks
