Always BugSplat whenever using Graphics Card

Dear Friends,

I need your help, my laptop is i7, intel Evo, Ram 16gb and RTX 3050

Why i can’t use graphics card RTX 3050 for Sketchup ? So when i choose Graphics card instead of classic graphic then my sketchup always got BugSplat, but it is no problem if i change to Classic Graphic. Thanks for your attention and help

You are probably missing some driver updates for your machine.

I tried it but still bugsplat

Did you get the driver from your graphics card vendor? Windows update is notorious for installing drivers that are not adequate for SketchUp.

Of course Sir, the RTX 3050 card and its software were already installed when I bought the laptop. Can you provide a link to the latest software update? Thanks.

Download The Latest Official GeForce Drivers | NVIDIA

Hi Dezmo,

Should i download both game ready driver and Nvidia Studio Driver or only Studio Driver, because last time i update studio driver. But I will try your recommendation here

Thanks

I have reinstalled using your recommendation, but stil BugSplat …

Personally, I use the Studio driver, but depending on the hardware/software you’re using, the Game driver might be better for you.

The crashes could also be caused by one of your extensions, especially extension like D5, Ai Render, V-ray… Try updating them (if there are any new ones) or uninstalling/disabling them.

Did you send a BugSplat report when they appeared?

Did you update the intel evo drivers too?

I never turn off automatic updates in my laptop, i think it is not the problem

Many updates aren’t sent via windows update - this is why I gave you that link.

It might solve it, or it it might not. But you won’t know unless you try

After dealing with this issue for almost six months on a brand-new machine, I discovered that some RTX graphics cards appear to be incompatible with certain motherboards.

Is this a new computer? If it is, I would seriously consider sending it back and getting a different one, because that is ultimately what I had to do.

Before replacing it, research the exact graphics card, motherboard, and other hardware specifications in the computer. I changed from a system with an RTX 5060 to one with an RTX 5080, and bingo—the problem disappeared.

My suspicion is that Nvidia and the manufacturers are quietly dealing with compatibility problems that are not being widely acknowledged.

Hi Tony,

My laptop was manufactured in May 12, 2023
how do i find its compatible RTX software ?

Thanks

My theory was that I was experiencing a hardware compatibility problem not a software problem. The research I found was that one of the NVIDIA RTX GPUs the 5070 I believe was having issues with certain motherboards and when I change to the 5080 which I think NVIDIA made inadvertent changes to that fixed my problem. But the desktop I bought was new so I was able to send it back making sure the new one had a 5080 instead of the 5070. All I can say is I was getting bugsplats like crazy on that first new machine then I switched to new machine with 5080 and problem went away. Now the “experts” will refute this on this forum but that is what happened.

You are spot on with the analysis. Over the years I have seen not only graphics card incompatibilities but also ram issues. These types of thing can bring software to its knees. I wonder how many people that have passed through the forum that had hardware that caused SketchUp and Layout to fail.

Do you mean RAM 16gb is not enough ?

Yes and users should know that its core modeling engine relies heavily on a single CPU core, so more processor cores do not necessarily mean better performance.

Hi Anssi,

I have tried this many times, but it doesn’t work. Is there any hardware detector to detect my card and then it gives the suggestions for the right software based on its detected card ?

Thanks
