After upgrading to version 26.1.257, all plugin signatures have become invalid!

Yesterday, I received a notification for the 26.1.257 update, so I upgraded without hesitation. However, after the update, the Extension Manager turned to English. Furthermore, all previously signed plugins now show invalid signatures, including Trimble’s own official extensions! At the same time, I also noticed that some plugins that originally had no signature now appear to be signed. I tried restarting both SketchUp and my Mac, but the issue persists.

I don’t know how to post images on this forum, so here is a link to my post on Xiaohongshu.http://xhslink.com/o/3HUWPpaXI2E

I see a problem. I have asked a colleague about this. It’s after work hours on a Friday, I’m not sure when I will get a reply.

Do things look correct if you set SketchUp to run in English?

Yes, when I switched SketchUp’s language to English, the signatures returned to normal. When I changed it back to Chinese, SketchUp crashed on launch. After restarting it again, the signatures became messed up once more.

Has the cause of this issue been identified yet? Additionally, the new version seems to be unstable. Today, I opened a very small model that is only 25MB in size, and it crashed on its own after a while. Crash #45422. Could you please help check the cause? Thank you very much.

I can’t tell what was the cause of your crash. You’re the only person to have sent in that type of crash.

The corrupt extensions manager window hasn’t been figured out yet. It looks correct in English, and when in other languages the extensions do appear to be working ok. If you need to add or remove an extension, that appears to work too, even with the errors in extensions manager.

So for some crashes, even with a crash code, you cannot find out the cause in the background.
In that case, I can only leave it to chance.
The extension itself works normally.
The crashes may stem from an underlying hidden issue, and hopefully this bug will be fixed in the next version update.

Hi,

I can confirm that the problem exists on other PCs besides Ahmay’s.

Here’s a screenshot from my French version of SketchUp Pro 26.1.256.

Problem appeared right after the update

I saw this on tuesday on a trainee’s computer

repairing the install worked

So how to repair the install on a Mac?Just re-install the dmg package?

well, sorry, I was talking about the PC issue of Caderix.

no repair per say on mac.

hi, exactly same issue.
While waiting for the update, I switched from French to English, which solved the problem.

Thank you

Hi BIMworld, I believe I have fixed it by turning off App and Browser control since I have Norton 360. And then added Sketchup to my allowed apps not to have to scan for threats in Norton. So I believe it was a combined conflict between Norton and Windows Security, Anyway once Iturned off windows Security all my extensions came back immediately on next startup.

I found a new issue today. I cannot disable plugins using the Extension Manager!

Have you tried disabling the plugin when in French?

yes, it’s part of the issue.

could be translation related (chinese, french cases) but what’s odd is that not everyone is concerned. it’s a very small group, both on pc and mac.

A colleague just had the problem on mac, reinstalling the previous patch worked

download.sketchup.com/SketchUp-2026-1-253-80.dmg

http://download.sketchup.com/SketchUp-2026-1-252-80.exe
(haven’t tried the solution on PC)

Thanks. So do I need to download and install the previous version of SketchUp first, then upgrade it again, or just stay on the previous version?

Is the DMG in the attachment a full installation package or just a patch? Its file size is quite large.

full install.

there are no patch install per say. on pc and mac, the install files are the same for patches or full reinstall.

and yeah, with the new engine, the environments, pbr materials, sketchup is a lot bigger than it used to

I reinstalled version 253. When I launched SketchUp for the first time, the Extension Manager prompted that two plugins needed updating: AI Render and Dynamic Components. After I clicked to update AI Render, SketchUp stopped responding.

I force-quit the program and tried to reopen SketchUp, but it kept crashing repeatedly. It crashed 8 times in total with crash codes #47887 to #47894. Fortunately, it finally launched successfully, and I managed to update the plugins. Now I’m hesitating whether I should upgrade to version 257.
