I have found, too, that licensing doesn’t like to work if you are not running SketchUp as an administrator (roght-click on SketchUp Icon>) even when you have logged in to your computer with an account that has administrative privileges.

You must install SketchUp as an administrator - simply having admin-powers is not enough.
Try this…
Use Control Panel > Programs and Features > Uninstall SketchUp…
Now find the SketchUp installer exe, or download a new version…
Select the installer exe’s icon, right-click > context-menu > Run as an Administrator…
Also make sure that you have your latest Graphics Card Drivers installed etc…
And have up to date Graphics Card Drivers installed etc…
The resultant installation is different from one that is done by an ordinary user, even one with admin-powers…
This might then fix some issues…
Also you should have the latest version of Internet Explorer installed [v11?] and your Internet Options should not be too onerous…
Also make sure that you have the latest version of your Graphics Card Drivers installed…
fair enough, I can get behind that
