3d Warehouse limited downloads

I tried to use the web version of 3D Warehouse today and found a restriction and limit of only 5 downloads, which makes it unfeasible for old paid users of the platform who no longer have the library working on the desktop version. Please review this determination as soon as possible. The limit of 100 per day was acceptable, but only 5 is completely unfeasible and unacceptable. They are forcing users to pay for newer and very expensive versions.

There is an ad that plays after each set of five downloads. You could watch that until the Skip button appears, and then be able to download the next set of five models.

I’m guessing using an adblock won’t display the ad and therefore won’t allow you to get the next 5 files ?

I have two problems with this new limit. First, it often doesn’t even allow me one download before telling me I’ve hit the limit and I have to watch a video.

But my bigger problem is that Trimble is in such a money grab that they fail to realize that the content they want you to buy a subscription to has been contributed and used without compensation. As one who has contributed models, I feel the download limit should be waved if you’ve contributed models.

The price of SketchUp for a desktop version is ridiculous x 2. It was bad before the new pricing. There is no way a hobbyist can afford it. The program I use for 3D design doesn’t do everything Sketchup does, but it’s easier to use and it’s a one time $50 purchase.

With the current direction Trimble is going, I’m reluctant to add new models and I am considering deleting the ones I’ve uploaded.
