2026 Studio Trial Wiped Out My Products

I attempted to test the Revit import function in the Studio trial that popped up inside Sketchup Pro 2025, that was a big mistake. After I selected the trail version of Studio, I can no longer open 2025 Pro which does not renew until June 2026, or open the Studio trial. I cannot use Sketchup at all. I have no products in my Account Management Portal or in New Products but in Plan Settings I see my Pro subscription good until June 2026. If I attempt to edit plan settings, it shows 0 total seat count. In members I see me as the active account owner with 1 product Sketchup Pro annual, status is active but I can’t use Sketchup at all, and it’s close to my full time job. What am I supposed to do next?

You need to contact support and open a ticket during support hours.

I did last Friday, no response as of yet. Thank you very much for responding. I was hoping someone had a similar experience, been using Sketchup since AtLast, have had very few issues. But this one hurt, bad timing.

Yeah holidays aren´t always enjoyable.

Have you tried uninstalling everything and install it again?

No, since I am unable to access my products in the administrative panel, I believe the permissions for the Studio Trial overwrote the Pro permissions in the license validation server. To me, it feels like a server side issue. Thank you for responding, I appreciate.

I’m having many issues with licenses management, the new platform is a nightmare.

3 of them have vanished without subscribing to any trial. I opened a ticket and quietly wait for an answer.

good luck

Paul - Thank you for responding, I have not had any issues like this that I can remember. I guess we are both waiting, but I am hopeful that someone has worked through this before us. And if not, perhaps it is a new issue resulting from the growth of Sketchup and the management system it now requires. Looking forward to hearing from Sketchup Support and I am sure you are also.

Just received a response from Sketchup support team redirecting me to use the Trimble Account portal to manage my subscriptions. I am puzzled by this response because the Account Portal is the problem from where I sit. Please, if anyone from Sketchup/Trimble monitors this forum, a little help would be greatly appreciated.

I talked this over with Support, and some action is being taken to make progress.

The issue is that when you’re on a trial version, you’re only allowed to use the latest version of SketchUp. The trial you did indirectly stopped Pro from working with 2025. Turning off the trial should fix that, and Support are likely to be in touch soon.

Thank you so much for responding, I have had so little trouble with Sketchup, I think I started taking reliability for granted. The trial offer was presented while I was running Pro 2025, its unfortunate that the distinction was not made in the pop-up its self, or maybe it did and I did not read the fine print. I will install 2026 Pro and upgrade to Studio as soon as you can get my license issue resolved. Again, thank you for your help.

2026 will work for you even before anything is fixed.

This didn’t used to be a problem, for two reasons. Up til a few years ago you could do a trial of any current version, not just the latest one. Maybe three versions ago that was changed to only let you trial the current version.

The other problem was that we migrated accounts to a new system, and so new trials would be given under the new system. Your existing Pro subscription was still under the old system, and the new system takes priority. Leaving it looking like you were only allowed to use 2026.

Most subscriptions are on the new system by now, so the problem will hopefully not come up too often.

What is the logic in this?

If SketchUp sees that you’re in the 7 day trial, and you’re not running 2026, it won’t let you run the version you are trying to run. I’m not going to argue that it is logical! In this case the failure was the Pro subscription not being seen.

Colin - I tried to use 2026 but it requires me to buy another subscription. If it would have run 2026, I would have upgraded to 2026 and solved the problem on my own. Moving from 2025 to 2026 would be more of a timing thing for me, not in the middle of a project. When this issue surfaced, that is the first thing I tried, the system does recognize my subscription in one area, but reported zero seats used and zero available. It feels like my account is stuck between two license authentication processes. Just to verify, I installed 2026 on my Mac, it says my trial expires on Dec 7 2025, which conflicts with my subscription which is through June 2026. This is the same result I was getting on my Windows machine before and after deleting and reinstalling Sketchup, I am stuck in trial mode no matter what I do.

Manage licensing is non-responsive.

Through the browser no products assigned. . .

From the account management portal. . .

Members looks right. . .

And in my products. . .

And so, I am stuck in the void.

Go to the admin console, your products should appear there, search the one that says Sketchup for desktop, click on reset authorized devices, and accept.

The trial is for Studio, and your existing subscription is Pro. After December 7th it should fall back to your Pro subscription.

Just got answers / mails back and forth from support and all this is a joke, some licences have been migrated to the new website accounts.trimble.com some are still on https://ecom-prd.trimblepaas.com/account, but have vanished, the plan still is listed but the licences are unassignable, and I’m being sent tutorials on how to use the new account portal while they are working on to migrating all of them on the same portal

Oh and got an ultimate answer saying that I won’t be able to reassign my licences “in this context” and that I need to contact my reseller to do so.

This is very unprofessional.

Thank you for responding, franciscofiallosb

I tried that and reset all devices, still no joy.

And another finding, the trial that the licensing system allows me to run is 2026 Pro, not the 2026 Studio Trial - the intended version I was originally attempting to use. So, the trial is not for Studio - it is for 2026 Pro only which should have been handled as a version update since my subscription is active.

As far as I know, all trials are Studio since the Studio version was created..

Edit: Thanks Colin for correcting me.. (see post below)
