Hello. I wanted to renew my subscription to KetchUp Pro after several months not using it. But in the subscription renewal process I got an offer to pay only USD24 instead of USD 600+ on an annual basis (attached screenshot).
I would be charged the remaining amount on 15 Jan 2025. But in the meantime, I am allowed to download the 2025 app vrsion. It is active in my computer but when I open it, I get nessages saying that I cannot open existing files, nor can create new flies/project. So I cant do anything during that one month period. Can you help clearing this bizarre situation ?
There is no 2025 version of SketchUp (yet). I think there also is only a 7 day trial - you are paying for a subscription until the end of the next subscription cycle, not getting any sort of deal.
Where did you get the download link?
Downloads are here:
Download 2024 and sign in with your Trimble account. And I would trash / uninstall whatever you downloaded that was labeled 2025.
Your Pro subscription is set to auto renew on January 20th 2025. You currently don’t need to buy anything to use SketchUp. If you saw an option to pay a low amount you may have been trying to add another seat to your existing subscription. If you did go ahead and do that, you would then be charged for two seats, on January 20th.
Assuming you don’t need two seats, don’t do anything at the moment, and on January 20th your one seat subscription would renew at the normal full amount, $349+tax.
Thanks for your reply. However, for the time being I cant do anything with this app. Cant create new project, cant review past projects. So it becomes useless. Is that normal ?
Thanks for your message. sorry but I meant the 2024 verdion, not 2025. But I dont think I can benefir\t from this trial period since I cant do nothing with the app (cannot vew projects, cannot create project. So i am facing a dead end with that trial version.
You shouldn’t need a trial though, as Colin noted you have a working subscription, so something is definitely messed up…
I agree that this is complete nonsense ! How SketchUp app can tell me (with an active subscription) that I can continue using the app, but I am not allowed to accee existing files or create new files. This is absolutely absurbe. I wish Trimble could help me on this but cant find the way to contact their support chat.
Have you double-checked that you are signing on to SketchUp using the same email as you used when buying your subscription? That’s a common source of confusing “it won’t let me do anything” issues…
Uninstall / Remove whatever you installed. Download the new installer.
Install (on PC be sure to ‘run as administrator’.
Sign in with the email address of your original account.
If you get a sign in error - go to your Trimble account and make sure the license has been assigned to the proper email.
That message appears if someone has deauthorized all devices. Signing out and in again should make the message go away.
Yes. I kept the same email and same account. But what is weird is that I can open the old 2023 version and do whatever I cant, so I continued refreshing my memory for operations the various icons. I am still a a familiarisation process since in 2023-24 I had likke time spared to use this app which I believe should be a good one when well mastered.
Thanks for your notice. I checked and read that my KetchUp 2024 is active (green botton). I kept the 2023 version and thanksfully by doing that I was able to use it today
