2017 upgrade from 2016 (old license not accepted)

I tried to upgrade to 2017, but my serial number and/or authorization code were rejected.
I used the ser# and auth. code from 2016. then I chanaged the R in front to an S.
Still didn’t work.
What am I doing wrong?

You need to get an entirely new license from SketchUp or the reseller if you got it that way. The old license doesn’t work on any other version.
