Recently downloaded a model from the warehouse, as a collada file, imported it into Sketchup 2017 (Make). In the past, the imported files appeared as “normal” models. There aren’t any settings in the importer with SketchUp that would improve it. You could use the extension CleanUp 3 on it after importing it, and then soften and smooth edges to improve the appearance. How are you using this thing in your model? I have 2017 Make, about a year ago I downloaded Eneroth Open Newer Version, and have had no problems like I did with the collada files.
