…and Ted Benson’s book too, by the looks of it. I was very fortunate to work with his company on one of my projects. They were fabulous to work with.

So many times on various forums people have been looking for an explanation of why their screens have done this or done that or the computer is doing something else strange and after many suggestions and guesses I usually ask, Have you got a Cat? Those four paws can hit the most amazing key combinations.

Yeah, it is and I didn’t even think about it until after I took the picture.

Thanks for your great videos and I have your book written with Mr. Sonder. Great stuff!

Some species have little interest in the keyboard or the screen.

Others you don’t leave alone for more than a few seconds.

My workspace used to have a screen wiper but they only work with CRT monitors.

I’m surprised not to see some prepper’s bunker set up here, given the way the world is right now. If I could be bothered, I would draw one in SU!

Love the cat pictures. Mine is old and luckily doesn’t jump up as much.

Here’s my current set up looking at my deck designed in SketchUp with construction details in LayOut. Made communicating with contractor so much easier to be the owner and designer. Cheers.

That book lives there full time and gets opened on the daily, thanks for the great work!

The Tedd Benson book was in my uncle’s workshop after he passed away (he was a talented woodworker and the inspiration to become one myself). There’s pieces of paper with notes of his between certain pages. I’m just beginning to study timberframe structures. Any advice in that endeavor?

Back when I had a pen plotter, the cats thought that mechanical pen carrier was like the mechanical rabbit at the dog track. Good thing it had a plastic cover to keep their paws out of it.

I’m no master of timber framing myself. It was a very collaborative relationship. I got the general idea and let them work their magic for the details. I did learn that in addition to American details and methods, Japanese framing is a different world (hey, even their saws cut backward) and they were not averse to mixing things up. My project with them was a hybrid timber frame that had conventional, though balloon framed, 2x6 exterior stud walls. That gave us good bang for the buck.

He’s grown beyond just timber framing into panelized prefabrication with Bensonwood Homes and Unity Homes.

Once you use a pull-saw a push saw feels so awkward. I was long ago converted.

The Benson Homes site is beautiful, thanks for sharing it. I hope to contribute drawings towards projects like those someday.

This isn’t exactly work, it is at home though. Maybe someday I’ll have an exotic location in the background  This will do for now.

Cheers.
