Windows 10 not recognizing Sketchup 2021 as an app

I have been trying to set Sketchup Pro 2021 as the default app for .rbz, .skp, and .skb files. (Note I previously had SketchUp 2017 and my computer still wanted to use that as the default, so I uninstalled the app). Now when I try to set 2021 as the default app to open the programs, it doesn’t even show up as an option (in the actual control panel settings, not the convenient pop-up window). I have to choose the program manually every time I need to open a file. Anyone have any advice for how to get the computer to recognize my app?

When you installed SketchUp 2021 did you right click on the downloaded installer and choose Run as administrator?

Honestly, I’m not sure. Let me uninstall and reinstall and see if that works!

You shouldn’t need to uninstall. Just close SketchUp, right click on the installer and choose run as administrator. Then choose Repair.

SketchUp does not open .rbz files, so don’t try to set that up. Those are zipped Ruby archives that you use for installing extensions via the SketchUp Extension Manager window.
