Will my sketchup 8 models open in sketchup make?

I am using sketchup 8 on iMac 2015 model. I need to update to sketchup make as I can not upgrade the Mac to Yosemite as SU8 does not run on yosemite. Also the component warehouse tells me it will stop working for SU8 soon. I have a lot of models in SU8 that I use regularly.

If I upgrade to SU Make will I be able to open my SU8 models.

Yes. New versions of SketchUp can open files from older versions, though not vice-versa. You can also “back save” a file from 2015 in an older format.
