Hi all. When I zoom out in my model the color fades and it appears less detailed. When I zoom in it restores.
Is this a SketchUp issue or a laptop graphics issue?
I only have three separate projects saved all around 6.5MB. However in one of them the model has disappeared and I didn’t delete it. Any ideas how to recover it?
Tech details:
Asus Viviobook Laptop
Not used for gaming
Windows 11 Home. V24H2.
OS Build 26100.4061
It would help if you share the .skp file but I expect you have a section plane visible.
Looks like you may have fog turned on.
Thanks. I’ve turned it off so that fixed it! Also, this file shows 6.8MB but when I open it my model has vanished. Any idea why?
Share the .skp file with us so we don’t have to keep guessing at what you’ve done. Download the file to your computer and upload it here.

@Box is correct. You have Fog enabled.
Turning it off makes the model look like this.

I mainly just turned off Fog and then hit Zoom Extents. I showed how to turn fog on and off.
Your profile says you have SketchUp 2024 Desktop. It seems like that would be the better version to be working on this than the hobbyist version SketchUp Free.
I was using 2024 but my understanding is it is no longer free. Is that right?
It was never free beyond the 7-day trial. Please correct your forum profile.
FWIW, the free web version is strictly for non-commercial hobby use. The desktop version has a lot more cpability and includes LayOut which is very useful for creating documentation from your SketchUp models.
I design for community theatre, not pro. Voluntary. Not paid.
That’s fine as long as you can get what you need out of it.
