Why can't no longer input jpeg images onto SketchUp Pro 2017

Hello Sketchup community,
Can you please let me know why all of a sudden I can no longer find my jpegs to download on to my sketchup project. I easily found them before.
Regards Sal

You need to give us more information about what you are trying to do. When you try to import the images do you have the file type set to JPG? How have you set the image to be used in the Import panel? As a Material/Texture or as an image? SketchUp 2017 won’t import images with .jpeg extension but you can rename them to .jpg if that’s the problem.

Please complete your profile with the correct graphics card, Windows version, and your SketchUp version and license.

Thank you Dave for your quick response.
I was trying to import a photo and take measurements like I have always done in the past. I love that feature. But when I go to input and image I don’t see the picture I saved in the file puzzling

So what do you have selected for file type in the Import window? What is the extension on the image file? Share a screen shot that shows what you see in the import panel.

I selected import image in the import drop down menu like I have always done.
What has changed. I found one picture that I can down load but the recently saved jpeg I cant even see them in that file.

You’re not answering the questions I’m asking.

What is the extension of the image file you want to import?

What file type have you got selected in the Import panel?

Upload a screen shot of the entire Import panel.

Hi Dave,
Sorry I don’t remember how to get a screen shot from my desktop screen
And I don’t know what an extension is…
Feel like a dumb #@$^ for wasting your time on this.

One thing I know for sure its only happening on this computer. I can input a jpeg in Sketchup on my laptop no problemo
Regards Sal

Since I don’t know what version of Windows you are using, I can’t give you exact instructions for making a screen shot. That’s one reason why I asked you to complete your profile.

Extension is the file type at the end of the file name. Like .jpg or .txt or .skp.

As I wrote before, SketchUp 2017 won’t import files with the extension .jpeg. It will import images with the extension .jpg You need to make sure you you have .jpg selected as the file type in the Import window.

Aaahaa,
I will check how I’m saving the original, I just did and its jpeg I’ll save that picture to a jpg instead of jpeg. Yes you did help me tremendously my friend. Would you believe I designed a whole product line with obviously knowing so little
Thank you so much ! See if you are not careful you will learn something new everyday.

You could mark Dave’s first reply as the correct answer. Also, are you using SketchUp 2019.2 or 2019.3 on your laptop? Those versions can read JPEG or JPG ok.

Thank you Sketchup, How do I mark as a correct answer
Geeze I’m pathetic
