Importing .jpeg images

hi,
just a small annoyance:
often, I’m sent pictures from whatsapp which I want to import to sketchup.
Problem is that whatsapp saves files as jpeg and sketchup only recognizes files with .jpg extension.

It’s no big deal, I just change the extension of the file and it recognizes it. but it becomes cumbersome if you have a lot of files.

does anybody know a way (either for whatsapp to save as .jpg by default or for sketchup to recognize .jpeg files.?

thanks!

Not an expert but would something like this work?

nice one,
but we are not talking about too many images, usually it’s 4 or 5 pictures.(not worth doing all that)
again, as I said in the beginning, it’s not a big deal, just wondering if there is some setting that could save me the trouble of renaming files every time.

Maybe you need to get people to edit the extension before they send it to you.

What you describe was eventually fixed in SketchUp 2019.2. Which doesn’t help you with 2018, but is something worth knowing if you ever think about updating.

SketchUp 2019 recognizes jpeg files.
