White Background on 3D Warehouse Trees after Switching to Lenovo

Hello everyone! I have been working on a model on my mac, but recently my model’s needs exceeded the memory I have on it. So, I have been borrowing a Lenovo ThinkPad from a friend, and this pc is generally way better than my Mac on all levels. The only issue I’ve run into is that all of my trees that I downloaded from the 3D warehouse now have an opaque background that they didn’t have on my Mac. I’m just wondering if you have ever experienced this before and if you know how to fix it? It’s not a big deal but it makes the trees look more “fake”. I will attach some pics next.

this is what it looked like on mac

and this is on the lenovo

What is the graphics card on the Lenovo? Which version of SketchUp are you using on that machine? Share the .skp file so we can see what you are working with.

here is the drive link
Both are on Sketchup2025. Let me check on the graphics card

I’m going to say this is due to the graphics card. This is a screenshot from your model on my PC with an nVidia graphics card. No white around the trees.

You could try switching to the Classic graphics engine in Window>Preferences>Graphics.

By the way, the file you shared has a ~ in the filename which implies it’s not your original file but instead is the backup.

the graphics card is an NVIDIA RTX A4000 Laptop GPU

on a mac, top one is with the classic OpenGL engine.
bottom is with the new Metal engine
(and judging from Dave’s post, DX12 is fine too)

check the preference panel, then graphics. if your asus has a strong enough GPU you can activate the new engine (2024+)

edit :

also, be careful. the file you gave us ends with a ~
on a mac, it means it’s the backup file, not the actual main one. on a pc they end with skb.
