What’s up with SketchUp Make?

It takes so long for it to respond to even an Orbit move.

SketchUp Free, once you’ve opened it in your browser uses your computer and your modeling is all done locally. If you are seeing any slowness in response, that’s not due to your internet connection or Trimble’s servers. Instead of OpenGL which Pro and Make use for rendering, it uses WebGL but again, that’s all done on your computer and it doesn’t rely on the web. Make sure your Internet browser is up to date and that it properly supports WebGL.

After downloading once into the browser’s local storage, SketchUp Free is completely executed locally by your processor like the desktop version (it is not comparable to a video stream). There is the same SketchUp core inside both. In contrast to the desktop version, Free requires a browser that supports WebGL equally good as OpenGL and runs Javascript very fast (and is optimized for machine code transcompiled to JS). That is not always the case with all hardware/browser combinations.

This was done entirely in Sketchup Free with no problems at all.

I didn’t experience any slowness or bugs while doing it.
