I was downloading from the 3d warehouse, after download the screen just showed blank screen with 2 guides only. Sketchup went non responsive and when file was reopened it looked like the image on the right. The image on the left is my backup file, so I’m not completely screwed, will just require relinking file in layout. Question #1: Can you tell what happened? #2 Is there a quick way to update all the file links in layout without going through all 40 pages?
Probably due to an issue with the object you downloaded. Share the .skp file with us so we can try to help you solve it.
FWIW, you should NOT be downloading content from the 3D Warehouse directly into your project. Instead you should be running a second SketchUp session and download into that so you can check out to see if the objects are suitable. If they are, copy them and paste them into your project SketchUp file.
The file is too large, but here is the drop box link, not sure if you can open that way…or if there is a better way to share. I’m self taught, and until today didn’t know that it was heavily recommended to open files in a seperate file before dragging into the drawing. Do you know if it’s too late to recover, or if it’s possible to just delete the 3d warehouse component?
The file is opening now. Hang tight and let me see what I can do with it for you.
I think it’s fixable. I sent you a link via a PM if you want to see how I do it.
My guess is that whatever you downloaded from the Warehouse has “astronomical” dimensions: items far from the origin or very large things, or geolocation.
Part of the issue was a couple of components that wound up at a huge distance from the rest of the model. All sorted now.
Thank you Anssi, you were right! Dave helped me fix my model, and got me back on my way. Appreciate your input
