Web Configurable Dynamic components

I’ll let you know if anything happens as per my other post in this thread

It is still distributed with SketchUp as of the 2025 release. The user would need to ensure it is switched on or your extension could check and load it and switch it on.

This an edited edition of one of my extension registrar examples:
EskimoWoolley_SU2webConfig.rb (5.2 KB)

Gotya

Sorry what is this?

It checks to see if the DC extension is installed. It’s well-commented for a quick look.

Comments
# An sample extension registrar file that requires Dynamic Components. If the
# user has switched off the Dynamic Components extension, then this registrar
# file will reenable it and make it load.
#
# A sample edited for Eskimo ...
#
# Assumes this registrar file name is: "Eskimo_SU2webConfig.rb" and
# that the extension subfolder is named: "Eskimo_SU2webConfig" containing
# a loader file named "main.rb" (or "main.rbe" if encrypted.)
#
# In practice, the programmer will change the top-level namespace module name
# and the extension submodule name as necessary, then enter valid properties
# for the EXTENSION data object.

You said you had already created a SketchUp extension.
So, I thought then you would know what an extension registrar file is.

This is an example using temporary module names that shows how to check if Dynamic Components is loaded BEFORE your OWN extension loads.

I’ll post a more generic actual working example in the Ruby API subcategory.
