Hi I have used the section tool successfully but it doesn’t quite do what I want. I only want to see a 2D view of exactly every feature that is present at the point of the cut. Sketchup hides everything in front of the cut but all the background behind the cut is still visible. Is there any way /tool I can use to see a pure cross-section through a plane?
Right click on the Section >> Create Group from Slice >> Copy >> Paste In Place in a new model…

You could use TIG’s Section Cut Face plugin to create faces at the section cut. The plugin is available from Sketchucation.
