UV mapping textures in Trimble Creator

I’m modeling a cabinet in Trimble Creator, and the geometry is basically composed of scaled boxes. I’m trying to apply a texture for the countertop and just found out that the way UV mapping works in Trimble Creator is only face-by-face, which means I can only project a texture in a single face of my box element, and the other faces will have a distorted texture

I read through some topics here and saw a guy talking about this three years ago… Is there really no way to correctly map a texture into a box element?

Creator only supports planar UV projections (on X, Y, and Z planes) - there isn’t a specific ‘Box projection’ or similar.

There are complex ways to get around this within Creator, but I wouldn’t recommend them.

Instead, I suggest ignoring UV projections entirely in Creator and just relying on SketchUp’s native handling of materials. It may look rough in Creator, but it will be okay in situ if you haven’t projected the UV’s.

You can see in this graph here (without UV projections) that looks incorrect in Creator

But that same graph in SketchUp looks fine.

Thank you! Will do that!
