I’m trying to align one item to another not on a main axis. Can I “lock” one point to another and “free rotate” the item to align with the other corner? The rotation within Move seem to only rotate from a center point on the object.
Use Rotate command (Q)
Yes. the rotation with move tool will be locked on the centre of gravity or your bounding box. ie the object will turn on itself. super for quarter / half turns
you’ll have to use the actual rotate tool.
First, choose in what plan / axis you want to turn (red green blue can be forced with your arrow keys, or you can drag the tool to pick any axis) and around what point you with to turn.
this point will remain immobile, the object will turn around.
