Rotation to specific angle AND guide lines? - Newbie question

Hi Guys,

again, just a very basic question. I currently have a beam on the vertical axis and want to specifically rotate it to a 45 degree angle. I can’t seem to type an angle specification in any where and I have to do it through the rotate tool as for some reason, my move tool isn’t picking up the protractor.

question 2: is there a way I can put in center lines of the steel members I am making so I can model to them?

Thanks in advance

The ‘Move’ tool only performs rotations on groups and components by picking one of their 24 red grips (4 p er side of the bounding box).
Second option: with the ‘Rotate’ tool you can click the center of rotation and hold down the left mouse button while dragging the cursor around to find the desired axis of rotation. Once found let go of the lmouse button. Then click the starting point of rotation. And then the end (here arbitrary) and type 45 and hit [Enter] to override the arbitrary rotation with 45 degrees.
