Using "hide" on "locked" parts

For a few months I use SketchUp Make now. More and more I’m learning the features that are available in the Make version.
However I missing one feature that would make working much easier for me.
I explain: when I select a part with the arrow on the screen and push the right button on the mouse, I see the options “Hide” and “Lock”. Both I use during designing with SketchUp. But when I locked a part, it is no longer possible to use the Hide function.
To my suggestion it would make working with SketchUp more friendly if you could use the hide function also for locked parts. The risk for accidently changing a part is minimised to almost zero.

Assign the locked part to a layer and hide the layer.
