Any suggestions? I’ve never had this happen to me before.
As well as all of my Component Collections
They aren’t missing. Each major release of SketchUp installs as a new program on your computer. The templates, component collections extensions, and toolbar locations are not carried over. Assuming you didn’t first remove the files from the previous version they will still be available in that previous version. You can copy your templates from the old version to the new. You can copy your extensions but be prepared for load errors due to out of date extensions or ones that can’t just be copied over. Best is to install extensions fresh from their sources.
Thanks for the super fast reply DaveR. Should I look in the Sketchup folder to find the “previous version” to locate the “non-missing” files?
When I opened the Preferrences > File > File Locations and went to the associated folders, there were no files to be seen. I’m assuming this is a location associated with the newest version?
I think I know what happened. I went from 2022 to 2023. Thus a “major” version update.
Read the file path. If you opened the file location in SU2023 it will be showing you the location for that version, If you go up in the tree in the File Explorer window you can find the equivalent folder under SU2022.
Yes. That’s what I was getting at in my first post.
Alright. I think I can sort this. It was just a panic stricken moment for a second there.
Cheers Dave!
