I updated my GTX 1070 graphics card with the latest Game Ready Driver a few days ago and now my copy of Sketchup Make 2017 will not open. I am running Windows 10 v. 2004 64 Bit.
When I launch, it shows up in the taskbar but sill not display on desktop. If I right click on taskbar icon and “Close Window” Sketchup will display and run normally (I think). I chatted with Nvidia and they implied that the Game ready driver that I installed will not play well with Sketchup. Unfortunately, I need it to run my X-Plane 10.50 version of Flight Simulator.
I also tried to repair Sketchup with the install app. No help. Any suggestions?
Sounds like the nag window may be opening off screen, try this:
Open SU, let it start up, the press alt and spacebar together, then tap m, then tap any arrow key, then without clicking, move the mouse around and see if the startup window appears on your screen. If it does, click Ok or whatever it is to start modelling ( I don’t remember). If that works it should continue to open on screen in future. You could also go to Window/Preferences/Workspace and click the reset workspace button.
