Problem 1 -Trying to put my model on Layout. When scene inserted to Layout get blue edge box with exclamation mark and nothing else happens.
Problem 2 Thought it may be an update issue. Tried to update. Tells me to close Sketchup but nothing open.
Any ideas please anyone?

I don’t know much about Layout… But for the installation/update; it’s possible that an older, silently crashed copy of Sketchup instance was “swallowed” by Windows. Restart your computer.
It would be helpful to see your SketchUp and LayOut files to diagnose the updating issue as there could be several reasons. If LayOut or SketchUp show the message Not Responding that usually means they are busy doing the last thing they were asked to do.
Generally, before installing or updating SketchUp its a good idea to do a cold reboot of the computer so there are no unnecessary processes running. Make sure when you install the latest version of SketchUp that you right click on the installer and choose Run as administrator.
