I recall reading posts a year or two ago that seemed to make a correlation between an auto-save that happened to trigger while SketchUp was in the process of doing some operation, and resulting problems in the saved file. One hopes that the internal logic of SketchUp is (at least now) properly using synchronization techniques to ensure the internal in-memory model representation is stable at the point that a Save operation proceeds to enumerate all the model contents.
can you please help me to recover my file, i also having same issue , my files cant be open, it come out this unexpected file format. i did change name from skb to skp, but it doesnt work on me.
I couldnât recover anything from the main file, and only the components from the backup file. Open this file and look in the components tray to see if there is anything useful.
It wouldnât have helped in this case, but when renaming the backup file you would change the .skb to .skp. You had changed the name to include .skp at the end, which made the full file name be 01.3D.skp.skb, and so it wouldnât have looked like a SketchUp file. As I said through, even when I renamed it correctly it still had problems, but not as bad problems as the original file has.

That file is missing big chunks of the data. I donât know how it got into that state, but I canât recover anything from it.
I couldnât get anything in the scene, but the components and materials are recovered. You see to have some components that include large chunks of the scene, hopefully you will be able to rebuild the scene from those components:

When I mentioned that I couldnât get anything in the scene, thatâs what I meant.
Look at the Components panel, and find the components that include entire buildings. Drag those into the scene to rebuild the whole model.

What version of SketchUp are you using? Your profile says 2019 Make which is impossible.
