Unable to import AutoCAD blocks as components anymore

hi,

I am using SketchUp 2026 Pro. Previously, when importing CAD files, the blocks were converted into SketchUp components, which allowed me to edit one and corresponding edits would happen to all the other components.

However i noticed now with SketchUp 2026, i am not able to do this. the blocks from sketchup are imported as individual components with a number at the end. Is this functionality removed? or is this a bug?

hello, when importing after having selected dwg as file type, if you go to “options”, do you have “import linework flattened” ? uncheck if you do

yes! it was checked! unchecking it, the cad file has imported correctly with the blocks now converted to components! thank you! :grin:
