Trim in solid tools

When trying to trim multiple components, I have to click the trim icon each time. In a previous version of sketchup, I don’t remember which, I only had to click on the 1st component and I could trim multiple components without having to click the trim icon again. Is this something I can fix with a setting, or has it been changed? I’m using pro 24.

I added a shortcut key just now and saved a thousand mouse clicks.

Are the components you are trimming instances of the same component definition?

yes. But I found that I can hold my shortcut key and just swipe over all the components to trim them, not even having to repeatedly use the key or mouse.

OK.

Still, are you trimming instances of the same component?

Yes. I’m trimming 100 of the same instance.

So with the native Solid Tools each component you are trimming becomes a group called Difference. With Bool Tools 2 or Eneroth Solid Tools you could trim just one and have them all trimmed in many fewer clicks and they will remain as instances of the same component.

I’m trimming them all different lengths against a curved component.

I see. That wasn’t evident before.
