When I try to trim more than one solid at the same operation I can only trim one. The “2” numbre change and don’t let me select any solid group again.
Is it normal?

yes it’s been talked about, the tool behaviour changed

If you use trim once, then you have to click trim again, then escape, then trim (which will go back to 1.
For something like what you show in your video, I would make the purple things instancxes of the same component and then trim them all in one step with Trim for either Eneroth Solid Tools or BoolTools 2.
Thank you for the idea. I was preparing it for a class in a SketchUp course and I only wanted to use native tools so I will use another example.
Unfortunately the native Solid Tools extension haven’t seen any development for years. They seem like very low priority.
Maybe its faster to delete the shape from one rectangular prism before making a component with it and then to move copies of the punched rectangle afterward.
Yes it is. I only wanted to show the tool. Start a basic course using extensions is not the best option.
If you connect all the fins on one side like a comb then it’s a single solid and the operation will work once. Then trim off the connection after solid tools.
Yes, I thought about it too. But it’s not worth it for a course. Thank you anyway.
The geometry inside a solid group or component doesn’t have to resolve to a single closed manifold, it can have several.
