Hello everyone. I’m making a render of a semi-translucent plastic bin and I can’t figure out what it is in my settings that is causing the object to render that green color. I’ve had this same issue with another similar material that was orange and it was only after using these settings that it went away, but now that I’m trying it with blue instead, I’m getting the same issue again.
Technical Details:
OS: Windows 11
SketchUp Version: SketchUp Pro 23.0.419 64-bit
Vray Version: 6.20.04
Hard to say without having access to the model and material. What was your starting material? Are you working with a Plastic material from Chaos Cosmos
My one issue with using the pre-built Vray Acrylic Transparent textures is that it requires there to be something backing behind it and doesn’t just simply render transparently. Well it kind of can, but it renders it in a way that looks extremely underlit.
A bit late to reply as I had to renew my V-Ray License…after looking closer at your file…I’m not sure I understand the problem exactly. I see that a green Diffuse color was applied. Simply changing the diffuse color to orange renders it orange. What else am I missing?
No. I tried resetting to defaults but you have a specific lighting setup so I ended up just leaving everything as is. I’m using SUv2024 but there is no new setting between v2024 and v2023 that would affect how V-Ray applies and renders materials.
Edit: All I did was change the diffuse color of the plastic material from green to orange.
Oh I see you were using a different material than the one I was currently working on in the file. Yeah it’s kind of a mess. I ended up working something else out though.
