Settings > scroll down to see the SketchUp app > language > choose prefered

Like Mike said, but I’ll add that this is the general IPad settings, and not anything in the SketchUp interface.

How about language input… e.g. 3D Text in Japanese… is it possible other than English?
Initially I said: No, and it doesn’t work for me in SketchUp desktop either - I’ll check if a bug is filed.
I tried to create 日本語の3Dテキスト (“3D Text in Japanese”)
Desktop gave me
And iPad gave me
BUT: I found the bug filed, and the trick is to choose the right font that supports it. I picked Hiragino Sans,

@Barry this is great! I got it to work as well after adding the nihongo romanji keyboard under settings > keyboard
Hiragino sans worked!
