This does not appear to be a Sketchup model - urgent

I have a SKP file saved on my desktop and when I go to open it, it says “This does not appear to be a Sketchup model!”. The file extension has SKP so I’m not sure what’s going on with it.
Модель КР.skp (1.8 MB)
Модель АР.skp (613.5 KB)

What version of SketchUp are you really using? There is no 2023 Free Plan as you put in your forum profile.

They are both about half-filled with zeroes. Nothing to recover. Neither file even has the proper header.

SketchUp Pro 23.1.340.

Put that in your forum profile. Why did you put in incorrect information when you created the profile? It’s not any harder to put the right information in your profile.

Can you rename the .skb backup files to .skp and open them?

Renamed, but no success.

That’s unfortunate. Where were you saving the files as you were working on them?

it is in my desktop

Hmmm … Did you have a power failure or some other cause for a crash? After you fix your forum profile, close SketchUp. Find the downloaded installer file, right click on it, choose Run as administrator, and, when prompted, choose Repair. Then reboot your computer before opening SketchUp again and restarting your models.

Since you have a subscription license for SketcUp 2023, take advantage of your Trimble Connect storage. In addition to saving to the internal drive on your computer, publish the models to Trimble Connect to create additional backups.

I bought ready sketchup model from someone for building the house. I downloaded and tried to open the files. But this error appeared. However it works in seller’s computer.

Good grief! Why didn’t you tell us that in the first place?

If they still have viable models, ask them to send the files again, maybe by a different method. Evidently however they were sent, they became corrupted.
