The "Share link" button is missing in Sketchup Web

Hi, today, the “Share Link” button in SketchUp Web disappeared for me. Previously, I could generate links to send to my clients, but that button disappeared for no reason.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or knows how to fix it?

Thank you!

I have that button.
You can also access it from the main menu.

suwebshare

As u can see, in my version appears the model sharing button, but its different to the one who generates a view-only link. I really don´t know if it´s hidden or it disappeared somehow.

Is it normal?

I have no idea why your share icon is different from the one in my animation above…
Maybe you signed in with a different email address that doesn’t have a subscription? Try to sign out and sign in again, make sure you are using proper email…

hello, your profile says you’re using desktop version, so why are your screenshots out of the web version ? do you know you can also share links from the desktop version ?

Before, I had two icons: one to generate a view-only link, and another to share the model with another user. Now, even if the model is uploaded to Trimble Connect, it doesn’t matter from where I share it — the other person is always prompted to sign in with their Trimble account. I don’t want that if I’m sending it to an important client.

I think it may depend on when and where the project was/is created.

I have 2 variants of that icon

One on the file menu and then another share option in the top right of the screen - depending on which project I open.

Exactly, but in my case the view only link icon disappeared for no reason. I´ve always used it without any problem.

I have the 2 different icons - on with the + as per Dezmo’s animation and the one from the OP - depending on which file I open,
Some have come from SketchUp more recently, others have been uploaded to trimble connect in the past.

The one using the “old” icon complains about trimble connect permissions not being set correctly.

ok, found it.

by default, I get the old icon with a plus.

as soon as you share it once, it’ll create a share link. and the icon changes.

initial situation

I click on share, and it creates a share link.

as soon as I specify access to my link (either scenes or full model), the icon changes. because now it’s not about creating a share link but managing the existing link.

@tommy_acierno am I close ?

You can see what the view-only link icon looked like before, but it no longer appears. Still, the method you showed me seems to work. I just want to send the link to my client and, when they open it, I don’t want them to be asked to sign in to Trimble. I want the model to open directly for them. Thanks everyone

As a guess it may just be how updated your browser is or even a simple refresh.

Have you got this installed as a web app?

I just noticed you are using a really old version (the dog icon in the top left) and the lack of the solid inspector) - you need to refresh it.

This is not my version, it is just a screenshot that i took from one of the SU topics. I use the 2026 Pro version.

So are you trying to create a link from the Desktop app and not in SketchUp for web?

again

Before, when generating links from the desktop version, the other person was asked to sign in in order to view the model. That’s why I’ve always generated the links from the web version

How can anyone give you an answer if you give us nonsense. Mute.

It was just to show where the button that had disappeared used to appear for me.

well with 2026 version you don’t need to sign in anymore. Just share the link with the new collaboration feature, you can make it private or accessible for anyone having the link, no sign in required at the other end
