What about the share option in the top right of the web?
Or the share option - view only directly inside of SketchUp 2026 itself?
I’ve just tried this on both web and desktop and the view only option does not require sign in.
This option here.

But everything you have posted has been ‘wrong’ how can anyone help you if you say I need to find a red bus when in fact you want to locate a purple orange.
Now that I’ve tested it, it does work, but this morning for some reason it asked my colleague to sign in. Thanks.
Thanks to everyone!
well we’re not privy to trimble’s changes, could they require a trimble account to use the share link ? possibly. sure.
like most web services in fact. try to find web services that don’t require an account…
your colleagues could simply create an account and sign in I guess.
also, yeah, confusing thread.
Hi, I’m an engineer working on some of the sharing features of SketchUp. There are a few things to clarify here.
The “share link” button did indeed move from the “home bar” (in the upper left) to a dedicated “share bar” on the upper right. It now has some more secure “private sharing” features which require viewers to log in, but the old “anonymous” functionality is still there.
Links generated from desktop and links generated from web should generally behave the same way. There have been some minor differences in the last couple of months due to our rollout of new collaboration features but, again, no functionality should be lost.
Something to keep in mind when using the “anonymous” links which do not require login: If you switch your link off and then back on again the “old” links will become invalid and you have to share the new one. With our new “private sharing” features these invalid links will no longer show an error. Instead, they will invite a viewer to log in so that they can request access to the model. This provides a more secure way for you to share your models. With federated login from Google, Apple, or Microsoft, it’s still pretty convenient for viewers.
