Lost access to a project - still have the share link

Hi, I have a problem with my sketchup web project - well its lost… i checked the posts and none seemed to have helped me, I know that the answer to most of these is to double check if my account is the same as used before.

What distinguishes my problem with the ones i saw here, is that i still have the share link! It was for sure with edit permissions because i sent it to my girlfriend to modify - however now i see that it is view only, and there isnt even a way to copy it.

What do you see when you try to open the file from the SketchUp app in your browser? Show a screenshot of the page.

Did your girlfriend actually modify the file? What version of SketchUp is she using?

not sure whether she modified it, she also has sketchup web

she doesnt remember acutally… so idk

i cant open a file, there is no file to be opened actually, i dont havbe a local copy of it, only have the link

I’m not sure what you are missing here. Open app.sketchup.com and sign in. Make a screen shot of what you see.

when i go into trimble connect there is also nothing there, yes i checked all regions

it was about a month ago, link was created 04.05.2026

What happens when you double click on the folder called SketchUp to open it?

Are you certain you are using the correct email address?

in poland, nearly sure its the same address, i mean it would be logical if it was a different one, but i dont use any other, was hoping that one of the sketchup admins can clone/check the email of the shared project

@colin might be able to look to see if there’s another e-mail address associated with you but as a user of the free version there’s no official support.

I didn’t yet figure out what account the model was shared from, but it does look to be on the Europe server.

There are a few accounts for your name. One of those shows as a deleted user. Is it possible you deleted an account after sharing the model?

Another account uses an email that ends with op.pl. See if you have such an email address, and whether signing in with that one then shows the model.

the only emails i have end with gmail.com, and no it is definetly not possible for me to delete that account

That is how I found out what name to look up. It’s curious that there is someone else with the same name as you, is also in Poland, who has a SketchUp Free subscription, but is using an op.pl email address.

yeah… but i can assure you its not me, well thanks for help i will be trying to 1:1 copy this by hand
