The Application was unable to start correctly 0xc0000005

Just installed SketchUp 24, on my Windows 10 desktop and am getting the error:
“The Application was unable to start correctly 0xc0000005”.

There seems to be lots of videos describing how to fix the problem, but every one of them seems to be completely different.

This may be a permissions issue accessing application files or a problem accessing the ,NET framework libraries. Make sure that Windows 10 is updated and also perhaps .NET from the Microsoft downloads site.


  1. Did you try to install with an anti-virus active? Disable it whilst installing …

  2. Did you right-click the installer exe and choose “Run as administrator” to install it?
    If not, (reboot your machine) and install as said, and choose the “Repair” option.

  3. You may need to whitelist sketchup servers (ports used) with the AV.

  4. Is your AMD video driver up to date?
