When trying to import textures, they are invisible. I’m sure something is wrong with my styles or something, but I have no idea what. I am new to SketchUp & am in the middle of the Commercial Interiors Lesson. Any help appreciated.
Share the .skp file so we can see what you are working with. The common issues are using Shaded instead of Shade with Texture for the face style and modeling at some extremely huge scale.
I am still very clumsy with syles. How would I find & changed to shaded w/texture? I am trying to find that now. I think that may be the issue.
Easiest would be to go to View>Face Styles and choose Shaded with Texture.
Thank you! I don’t know if this is Mac specific, but styles displays a lot of options that are images with no text or explanation. I had that option selected a few times, but wasn’t sure that was the right one. The view drop down is great!
Nope that did not fix the issue. Still importing invisible :\
Share the SketchUp model file so we can see what you’ve got going on. I’m sure there’s an easy fix but all we can do is guess based on your description.
In the model you’ve got the face style set to Monochrome.
Changing the Face Style to Shaded with Textures shows the following because you’ve got Color by Tag active.
You can tell that by the red thumbnail.

After turning of Color by Tag in the Tags panel the floor texture shows just fine.
I already have the style toolbar open.
Okay, I deactivated color by tag & that worked!! Thank you. I knew it was something little, but am not well versed enough yet to figure it out. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Also, I note you are using tags incorrectly. Untagged should be left as active.
After making Untagged active, fixing the incorrectly tagged geometry results in this:
Here’s the revised file.

Yes, I knew untagged was supposed to be active; I could not figure out how to make it active unfortunately.
I still can’t figure it out. How do I do make a tag active?
Find the pencil icon on the right side of the Tags panel. Click to the right of Untagged to move the pencil.
I think I got it. I swear I did that so many times, but maybe clicked on the wrong place? Switching my brain from CAD.
