Hi everyone,
recently I encounter some problem with creating new materials that the texture of the new material keeps the ratio of the whatever image of the previous material I have active before I click the create material… box.
Say, I have a material with a texture ratio of 1x1 and want to create another material with a texture in another ratio. the new one has then the ratio 1x1, instead of the original ration of the image itself and I have to fix it manually.
How can i fix it? Lot of thanks in advance!
Are you uploading your own materials or you’re talking about the preloaded ones? Are you still using sketchup 2023?
I don’t think it’s a bug, some materials have different sizes, some are rectangular and some are squares, you can change the dimensions either keeping the same ratio or enter the dimensions you want them to have separately by clicking on the link symbol next to the dimensions.
I’m creating my own material. Usually the size of the texture would automatically change if you change texture. Let’s say the first one hat a 1x1 ratio, the second one 1x3 ratio. if I set the first one to 100cmx100cm, when I change the texture to the 2nd, it would be 100x300cm or something like 20x60… the exact size doesnt matter, but the ratio of the image is right.
But now I have a problem that the 2nd image will take the 1x1 ratio of the previous one, letting it distorted, with the ratio locked. This is quite frustating, because everytime I have to look up the properties of the said image, and manually type it in sketchup.
