Texture curved surface, has something changed in 2023?

I am using Sketchup pro 2021

i attached the column

Please correct your forum profile. Presumably you have a subscription. You might consider upgrading to 2023.

Natively you can expose the hidden geometry, sample the texture on one face, and paint it on the next faces.
texture
Your texture isnā€™t tall enough for the column so you will have repetition vertically. You can edit the material and make it larger or stretch it in the vertical direction or look for a more suitable material.

I made a quick sample in SU2023 and the texture went on without any problem.

thanks for response Dave
dosenā€™t work for me this solution,i tried but when i color the face nothing happened
The ideea is if i try only the column is ok but i replaced
the cplumns in a big building and then appear the problem

Thatā€™s odd. Is the model placed at a large distance from the origin?

Did you try correcting it in the large model?

Fix your forum profile.

We have it fixed internally, I canā€™t say when an update will include the fix.

Colin, what was the root of the issue? What changed?
Its a chronic problem for my workflow.
Glad it was addressed and found.

Iā€™m having the exact same issue. I was using SketchUp Pro version 22.0.354 and I could map textures to curved surfaces accurately and easily by turning on hidden geometry and sampling face etc. however since Iā€™ve updated to the latest 2023 version I cannot get the same results, the textures get all messed up just like the samples shown above. Iā€™m also having trouble with ā€˜Thrupaintā€™

This is still a problem I am havingā€¦ I can only get something to work with a projected texture

You are going to have to use an older version of SKP until they update the current version to fix it.

To all suffering - just install free sketchUV or ThruPaint ($, somehow better) and watch the relevant TutorialsUp vids
