Text created in Sketchup not visible in Layout

Vector text created in Sketchup will sometimes shows up in Layout, but not always. This use to work seamlessly, but with the newer versions of Sketchup its functionality has gone away. Is there anyway this can be made funtioal once again? It’s extremely helpful to my workflow, saving me much time.

Hey, Dave- I’m including su and layout files. Love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks!

Sorry. I was working with a student.

On which page are you expecting to see the text and which text are you expecting to see?

FWIW, it’s generally not a great thing to use text in SketchUp for LayOut because of the way text sizes are managed. It’s better to add all of the text in LayOut.

I can show the text in the viewports if I turn on their tags. Here I’ve enlarged the viewport by dragging the left edge over and then I turned on the appropriate tag folder to show the legend on the left.

And if I zoom in your can see those spot heights(?) show up as well because I turned on their tag.

Again, you’ll have better control over their appearance if you add those things in LayOut but they can be made visible in the viewport.

BTW, I went through my usual cleanup procedure with your .skp file. Lots of incorrect tag usage.

All edges and faces should be created and remain untagged.

I was pleased to see no unused components or materials and the materials you have are all of reasonable size. Good on you.

Thanks, Dave-

On page 2, under the “p topo new” layer, the text will show if the scene is set to raster. If set to vector, most of the text disappears but the other geometry stays.
When you drag over the viewport and show the text as you did, much of the other text still isn’t showing. Small dots within the drawing itself should have a number next to it.
